James Anderson, seen here successfully appealing for the wicket of Marlon Samuels, rocked the West Indies top order with three quick wickets.

James Anderson has rocked the West Indies top order to leave the home side struggling on 37 for three at lunch, on the second day of the third Test match being played at Kensington Oval.

Anderson, England’s leading wicket taker of all time, so far has the impressive bowling figures of three wickets for a mere four runs off six overs.

West Indies vice-Captain Kraigg Brathwaite and debutant Shai Hope opened the batting for West Indies, but Anderson quickly removed Brathwaite in the first over of the day’ play for a duck.

Hope followed shortly after, caught for five runs after facing 16 balls with West Indies on five for two in the fifth over.

In form batsman Marlon Samuels scored just nine before falling lbw to Anderson.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul  and Darren Bravo are both unbeaten on nine at the break.

Earlier, resuming from their overnight score of 240 for seven this morning, England were dismissed by the West Indies for 257.
