Their anticipated arrival caused many tongues to wag, but when the first batch of 88 Nigerian students landed in Barbados late last night, few people were around to see them.
The group was initially to come here four months ago to pursue studies at the Barbados Community College, but their arrival was delayed over concerns about the deadly Ebola virus that had affected their country among other West African nation.
Nigeria has been declared Ebola-free since October and the group spent several weeks in neighbouring Trinidad before coming to Barbados.
Here, some of them wait outside the arrival hall at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
