Two men have been charged in connection with last week’s discovery of 661 pounds of cannabis in a boat some five miles off Alleyne’s Bay, near Mount Standfast, St. James.
Thirty-six-year old fisherman Sabastian Thorpe of Porters Road, Queens Street, St. Peter, and 28-year-old groom Junior Mascoll of Pipers Avenue, Bayville, St. Michael have been charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of the drug valued at $1.3 million.
They are due to appear in the District ‘E’ Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
The seizure was made last Thursday during a joint operation by the Drug Squad, the Police Marine Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard.
