On the hunt for a missing woman today, police instead made a drug find.
This afternoon a host of police officers, members of the canine division and the special service unit descended on the bushy areas of Waterford Bottom and Friendship in St Michael after news that 28–year–old Guyanese national Onicka Malicia Gulliver was spotted there.
Police sources told Barbados TODAY that sometime around 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, March 11, the young woman was forcefully taken from her 1st Avenue, Station Hill, St Michael home by her estranged boyfriend. Since that time, her family has not seen or heard from her.
But today, near noon police received word that she was seen in the vicinity.
However, when they combed the area for more than two hours, instead of locating her, they discovered 268 cannabis plants. The tallest was five feet. No arrests were made.
The search for Gulliver continues and police are imploring the assistance of the public in this effort. She is four feet tall, of slim build and of a light brown complexion. She has a small head with brown shoulder length natural hair with “Remi” added in reaching the middle of her back.
She has brown eyes, thin lips and speaks in a deep husky voice. She was last seen wearing a yellow tee shirt, burgundy short pants with a green stripes and wearing dark blue slippers.
Anyone with information relative to her whereabouts are asked to contact the emergency number 211 or the nearest Police Station.
