Jamaican national Albenda Chrisal Aldeen Dwyer has been arrested and charged with a number of drug offences.
According to police spokesman David Welch, Dwyer arrived on the island by air from Jamaica on Tuesday. She was interviewed by police and referred to Customs where a search discovered cannabis hidden in her suitcase, weighing one pound.
She was subsequently charged with possession of one pound of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
Dwyer appeared at the District F Magistrates Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty.
She was remanded and is due to return to court on December 17.
