A party source told Barbados TODAY that during the just over two-hour long meeting, members of the Executive Council were able to clear up the discrepancies on the list that had provoked the ire of some constituency branch members, forcing the abandonment of a branch meeting
last Sunday.

The annual general meeting of the branch is scheduled for this Sunday afternoon at the Bonnett’s Resource Centre, Britton’s Hill, St Michael.  However, there was speculation today as to whether Dr Agard would attend amid reports of dissatisfaction with her representation within the constituency.

Among those seen entering BLP headquarters for the 2 p.m. meeting were General Secretary Dr Jerome Walcott; Member of Parliament for St Thomas Cynthia Forde; former Senator George Griffith and Pat Parris, Assistant to Opposition Leader Mia Mottley.

Yesterday, in response to a story carried by Barbados TODAY, Dr Agard gave an assurance that her constituency assistant Linda Freeman would make herself available to identify the projects which the Christ Church West MP had executed in the constituency over the past three years, contrary to claims that there has
been a disconnect between her and
the constituency.

A BLP source who yesterday spoke to Barbados TODAY on condition of anonymity said several members of the constituency had expressed dissatisfaction with Dr Agard’s representation. However, the source insisted there was no conspiracy to oust the sitting MP but charged that she was her greatest enemy.

In an interview this afternoon,
Dr Agard told Barbados TODAY her absence from the meeting did not mean there was a rift, and that she had written to the party’s General Secretary explaining the reasons for her absence.  (NC)
