Mother Natalie Harris and father Mark Turton were still struggling to come to terms with their loss when Barbados TODAY visited their home.

In a brief comment, Harris said her son had an altercation with one of his neighbours who first struck him with a stone on his foot and then on his temple.

They took Shakeem to FMH for medical attention and he was released but he subsequently died at home at 9.00 p.m.

A distressed Harris said her son died in her arms after giving her the thumbs up.

Skakeem’s grandfather who spoke on the condition of anonymity was adamant that the death penalty which remains on the island’s law books should be carried out to arrest senseless crime.
