Loving the Lord is Ina Eleanor Ifill’s secret to long life.
Ifill, Barbados’ latest centenarian, celebrated her birthday today with family, friends and loved ones, and in the company of Acting Governor General Sir Phillip Greaves, at her Queen’s Street, Speightstown, St Peter home.

Her niece Charleen Cozier-Heard described her as very fun-loving, and one who cared dearly for people.
“Her eyes are sharp as ever. And she is always ready to pray for people when they come to visit. She senses when people are in distress, and she always tells them, ‘Don’t worry. God is with you and will take care of you’,” Cozier-Heard said.
Ifill was a caretaker of the Parker family for over 40 years, and many of them came out to celebrate her big day with her.
The devoted Christian was fascinated by the Acting Governor General’s visit and even more excited to have wine with him during the toast to her.
Ifill, who is still able to walk and is in good health, was the mother of one son who is deceased. She has two brothers, two sisters, and five nieces and nephews.
