Classic is the newest calypso king of Barbados.
In one of the most keenly contested finals in recent years, Classic produced a sterling performance with his two songs In Bed Together and Something Fishy to dethrone defending champion iWeb and walk away with the MQI Pic-O-De-Crop title.
Donella was a close second
Just before 2 a.m. this morning, it was announced at Kensington Oval that Classic – who hails from De Big Show calypso tent – had amassed 98 points, four more than second placed Donella Weekes of All Stars.
Colin Spencer was good enough for third
Colin Spencer of Headliners finished third on 92 points, while Hee Haw and Adrian Clarke finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Defending champion iWeb did not even crack the top five
