Barbados recorded its 10th road fatality for the year on Wednesday, following an accident along Bromefield Main Road, St Lucy.
The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old George Broomes of Bromefield, St Lucy.
According to Inspector Rodney Inniss, Communications & Public Affairs Officer at The Barbados Police Service, a motor vehicle and a pedal cyclist — identified by police as Broomes — were travelling along the said road when they became involved in a collision around 6:25 a.m.
Broomes was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private motor vehicle, where he was pronounced dead while receiving medical treatment.
Investigations continue.
