A Jamaican man and woman are set to appear in the District ‘B’ Magistrates court today to answer drug related charges.
Hooden Mykini Blackwood, 31, and businesswoman Tamika Latoya Fearon, 36, are each facing four charges of possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, trafficking cannabis and importation of cannabis.
Blackwood was arrested after arriving at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) on Sunday. After being interviewed by police, he was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently passed out 136 packages of cannabis weighing 2.2 pounds.
Fearon arrived at the GAIA on May 8, but after being interviewed by police, a search of her luggage revealed two taped packages of cannabis concealed in false compartments of her suitcase. The drugs weighed four pounds.
