It is a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t, suggests St Lucy MP and Minister of Housing Denis Kellman.
The Minister, who is known for his regular interventions on call-in programmes, such as Down To Brass Tacks on Starcom Network Inc., said he had made a decision not to frequent these radio shows anymore.

Kellman said his past efforts, though genuine attempts to explain Government policy to the listening public, were met with nothing but criticism.
“When you go and do that, people believe [that] you are looking for territory for yourself. And, even some of your own people criticise you and tell you to keep off the call-in programmes. Now that I am not on the programmes and the Government getting licks, everybody vex with me saying that I used to defend the party and now they can’t even hear me,” he said during a constituency meeting in St Lucy last weekend, adding that he could not possibly please everyone.
“The truth is, sometimes you need to pull back and let people appreciate what you are doing. If you are there for them all of the time, they will never appreciate your contribution,” he said.
