There was no serious talk of budget, outstanding NIS and VAT returns or even IMF reports today, as Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler threw off his business attire for a relaxing day with the elderly in his constituency today.
The occasion was the annual scenic tour and picnic put on by the parliamentary representative for St Michael North West.
The ride, which began at Sinckler’s constituency office in Black Rock, made its way to Silver Sands, Christ Church for a day of fun, frolic and socializing.
A casually dressed Sinckler mingled with all and sundry, as he showed off his newly trimmed down figure.
The senior Government official said he was very pleased with the turnout, as he reported growing interest in the constituency affair, which he said started out about five years ago with three buses and had grown to a dozen.
“We normally try to target about 400 people, now it’s almost double,” he told Barbados TODAY.
Here are some of the highlights of the event.
