This alert message is valid from 6 pm Saturday and will be terminated at 12 midnight Sunday or
sooner if conditions warrant.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

Hazard Info: A tropical wave will continue to affect Barbados and is forecast to bring periods of light rain and isolated pockets of light to heavy showers during the early hours of the night. Throughout the day, central districts of Barbados recorded between 50mm and 75mm of rainfall. A further 30mm in further rainfall accumulations are projected.

Key Messages: Residents and visitors should be prepared for the possibility of:

  • Strong runoff from higher elevations.
  • Debris such as small rocks, mud and tree foliage could end up on roads and property.
  • Traffic delays.
  • Flooding at the foot of hillsides and coastal roads.
