Tourism officials today launched Barbados’ global campaign for summer on home soil.
Starting at the historic Golden Square Freedom Park in The City, Tourism Minister Senator Lisa Cummins unveiled the first of a series of gigantic postcards positioned at some of the island’s top locations.
Curious visitors, school children and members of the public gathered at the site to watch the unveiling, which included cultural performances.
Minister Cummins urged Barbadians and visitors to get involved in the initiative and share the island’s story far and wide.
“When you come to Barbados these are among the iconic places that you have to come and visit and we are sharing these postcards so that you can take those photos here, take those photos back with you to your friends and family and tell the story of authentic Barbados.

“This location is a perfect balance of our history, our community tourism push, of our domestic tourism push but also very much part of the story we want to share of Barbados with the world.
“We want to invite every Barbadian to come down to Golden Square, come to every location where we are going to take tourism forward,” she said.
Member of Parliament for The City of Bridgetown Corey Lane fully endorsed the campaign.
“It is really my pleasure to have you here and to have this post card launched here. Anything that brings beauty, positivity or progress to the people and City of Bridgetown, it has my 100 per cent support.
