A 32-year-old man is nursing a gunshot injury to the right buttock after a shooting incident this morning at Taylor’s Gap, Weston, St James.
Police Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss reported that around 10:55 a.m., lawmen received a report that the driver of a pizza delivery van had stopped his vehicle momentarily at a point along Taylor’s Gap when an unknown man came out of some bushes in an area near an abandoned house and started firing shots in the direction of the driver of the van.
Inniss reported that the driver jumped out a window of the van in an effort to escape and the assailant chased him and continued to fire shots.
The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, the assailant escaped on foot Investigations are continuing.
