
National quarter-miler and record holder in the women’s 400m Sada Williams captured a bronze medal competing at the 2021 Diamond League held in Zurich, Switzerland.
The 23-year-old ran a time of 50.24 seconds and established her place among the best 400m female runners in the world including United States of America gold medallist Quanera Hayes (49.88) and silver medallist Marileidy Paulino of Dominican Republic (49.96).
It was an historic run from Williams who held off the fast finishing Jamaican Stephenie Ann McPherson who ended fourth in 50.25 seconds.
