A child plays dangerously close to the edge of a four feet hole, left on Paddock Road, St Michael by Barbados Water Authority (BWA) workers after repairing a burst main during the last week of January.
Residents have expressed fear that children who play in the community could fall in and injure themselves.
The hole, which has no lighting around it at night, is also causing traffic problems, as vehicles are forced to drive on the pavement to get past.
A BWA customer service representative told Barbados TODAY that the superintendent for the area had indicated filling the hole would shortly be “sorted out”.
“We are trying to have the problem rectified, so we are actively working on that and we do apologize for the inconvenience,” the rep said.
