Around 100 women from Barbados and across the Caribbean gathered at the Cave Hill School of Business today learning the Secrets of a Six Figure Woman, the second annual success showcase held in collaboration with the University of the West Indies.
During the six-hour session women who have achieved success shared their stories.
The speakers were engaging, using their life experiences, mixed with humor, to hammer home their points.
“You have to take responsibility for your personal growth,” said Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Cave Hill School of Business Dr Jeannine Comma.
Six strategies for success were outlined by Sharon Christopher, deputy CEO of corporate administration at First Citizens Bank.
These included telling people the value you bring to the table, standing up for the things you believe in and staying strong.
“Success is not defined by material things and position,” she posited, “success is living life to the fullest.”
The other speakers were Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine, Dean in the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine; Carole Eleuthere Jn Marie, Regional Manager of First Citizens Investment Services Ltd.; certified holistic health counselor and Supreme Court Judge Sandra Mason.
The honorary guests were Dame Billie Miller and Dame Maizie Barker-Welch.
