BCA statement on fired CEO still pending

Two days after the board of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) took a decision to sack Chief Executive Officer Jefferson Miller, lawyers for the two sides today agreed the final terms of the separation.

The meeting between the association’s legal counsel Pat Cheltenham QC and Miller’s attorney Junior Allsopp came on the heels of a decision taken at Monday night’s meeting of the 14-member board to terminate the CEO’s contract.

BCA President Joel Garner is yet to issue any statement on the matter.

Late last week Barbados TODAY broke the story of Miller’s conviction in a Miami Dade County Court on a charge of grand theft to the second degree, for which he was sentenced to          12 years probation.

The development, which occurred less than a month before he took up the top post at the island’s main cricketing body in June, somehow escaped the scrutiny of board, which is under mounting pressure to step down.
