Flashback: Shanique Myrie and her attorneys on the way to court in Barbados last year.

The much-anticipated decision in the Shanique Myrie case will be handed down on October 4.

The Caribbean Court of Justice will deliver a reserved judgement via video conference from its CCJ headquarters in Trinidad at 10 a.m. Jamaican Myrie had brought a case against Barbados, alleging that she was subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment at the Grantley Adams International Airport when she arrived here on March 14, 2011.

She has asked the CCJ to award her damages. The court was also urged to rule on procedures and systems that would improve the traveling experiences of CARICOM nationals. Some 22 witnesses were called to testify and the panel of judges examined about 3,000 documents. The regional court held hearings in Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad. (EJ)
