The Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC) has a new board, which is chaired by former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anthony Wood.
An economist and lecturer at University of the West Indies Cave Hill, Wood also previously served as Minister of Energy and Public Utilities and Minister of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports in a previous Owen Arthur-led Barbados Labour Party Government between 1999 and 2008, before he lost his St Philip South seat to former Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite of the recently ousted Democratic Labour Party.
The deputy chairperson of the BADMC board is Wayne Lovell, and the other members are Peter Chase, Berkeley Clarke, Edwin Oneale, Ronald Greenidge, Elaine Gooding, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security or his nominee, and Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society.
The appointments took effect from July 1, 2018, and are for a period of three years.
