Queen’s Counsel Sir Fred Gollop passed away this morning.
Sir Fred, who served as President of the Senate for 14 years has also sat on the boards of several public and private sector corporations.
These include Consumers’ Guarantee Insurance, the Barbados Industrial Development Corporation, the Nation Corporation and One Caribbean Media Limited.
Sir Fred was a director of the Central Bank of Barbados for ten years and served as a Commissioner on the Judicial and Legal Services Commission of the Caribbean Court of Justice.
In 1997, he was awarded Barbados’ highest honour – Knight of St Andrew.
