Fantastic!
That’s how Principal of St. Cyprian’s Boys’ School, Dave Layne, feels about his students’ performance in this year’s Common Entrance Exam.
“I have 13 of the 27 boys getting their first choice. We have 10 of them going between Queen’s College and Harrison College, plus three going to [The] St. Michael School, two to Combermere, five Christ Church Foundation and one [The] Lodge. We have 24 of the 27 going to the older secondary school,” he said.
One of his students, Zach Drayton, an early sitter, was among the top 10 performers in the country. His score 247.90 saw him tied for eighth position with two others.
Layne said that discipline and hard work were the major planks of success at his school. He also noted that as the May 7 exam drew closer they were very confident in the boys’ ability as “all of them were ahead of where they should have been”.
The principal noted Drayton was overjoyed and he always wanted to attend Harrison College where some of his relatives had received their secondary education. (DS)
